I have been an animal lover since I could walk. My childhood was spent surrounded with cats, dogs, reptiles, fish, and rodents – that was when I wasn’t at the farm! It has always been my mission to treat every animal with kindness and respect, and to observe before deciding how to act.
I am a graduate of a grooming school on the west coast of Florida where I was trained not only to cut a dogs coat but to help the owner with general care and concerns. I take pride in the formal education I received. I moved to New York City after graduating and soon found work at a salon in Brooklyn. At the salon I continued to hone my grooming technique, working with some very talented groomers, but I wasn’t convinced that bringing dogs to a salon was the best approach to grooming.
Grooming in professional pet salons has shown me that dogs tend to want to return to their family as quickly as possible and can be made very uneasy in the high volume “pet spa” environment where they often spend a great deal of time waiting in cages, surrounded by other anxious dogs. I thought there had to be a more compassionate way to handle dog grooming; house calls was the answer.
Today I aim to make my grooming services a pleasant experience for both dog and owner, from start to finish. My goal is to make your dog as comfortable as possible in what could otherwise be an uncomfortable situation, while still making them as cute as a button.
When I am not grooming, I am spending time with my two daughters, having adventures in our neighborhood and growing together. My husband and I enjoy taking them on hikes, to parks, playgrounds and spending time being active and creative.
